KREA Vitae Foundation is a strategic partner of the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates and Peace Education programmes.

For more than two decades, the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates has been organising what is regarded as one of the most important international events in the field of promoting world peace, bringing together Nobel Peace Laureates, opinion leaders, NGOs, academics and students from all over the world. A very important and constantly developing strand of its activities is the broad participation in the events of young people – pupils and students from the countries where the event is held, as well as groups of young people coming from many other countries. It also organises numerous accompanying events aimed at young participants and cooperates extensively with universities in order to promote peace in the world.

As part of its activities, the Secretariat disseminates the inspirational messages of Nobel Peace Prize laureates and organisations established by Nobel Peace Prize laureates. So far, conferences have been organised in Rome, Paris, Berlin, Hiroshima, Chicago, Warsaw, Barcelona, Bogota and Merida. These meetings have resulted in strong, substantive appeals for the protection of human rights in the broad sense, protection of the environment, ending wars and fighting poverty, eliminating nuclear weapons and promoting a vision of a sustainable, peaceful future for humanity based on education and international cooperation.

It is an honour to work with Nobel Peace Prize laureates – people who have overcome enormous challenges, changed the world and speak out on peace and non-violence. The desire to disseminate the Nobel Peace Prize laureates’ messages to as many children and young people as possible was the impetus for this valuable partnership.

For years, people associated with the KREA Vitae Foundation have had the opportunity to work with the Permanent Secretariat and co-create successive Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Summits. We started a new chapter of this collaboration, in its current institutional version, with the organisation of the panel “PRESS FREEDOM: Case studies from around the World“, which took place on 4 May 2022 on the Zoom platform on the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day Global Conference organised by UNESCO. During the panel, three teams of young students from Mexico, South Africa and India presented their research on press freedom in their countries. On the occasion of this conference, we also supported the Secretariat in recruiting participants for the Youth Press Room, which covered the proceedings of the UNESCO conference.
